Hi! Sorry for being late, this weekend was busy. Also, I started syncing the links I share to my site, tadeas.dev, where you can see the full list. Additionally, each bit is tagged, so you can browse by tag as well (if you want to see all past AI-related links, for example). That’s it from me, here are the bits:
How to Use AI to Do Stuff: An Opinionated Guide
Entropy levels of 100 cities by street orientation, beautiful visualization

AI not only heralds the future, but can also help us better understand our past. Here AI is used to instantly translate 5000 year old Akkadian tablets, a very labor intensive task for which few experts exist. Also relevant is the Vesuvius Challenge, trying to read scrolls carbonised by a volcano eruption (this is a great podcast episode where it’s explained in-depth)

Cute video about hexagonal chess, if you like it a good followup is Hexagons are the Bestagons
Interesting book, How to invent everything: a survival guide for the stranded time traveller
Interesting video on why North is up on maps. This is a good related blog post: maps distort how we see the world
